If this is your first time here WELCOME! This is hands down the best forum on the net. No, I am not compensated nor do I have any ties to any management or ownership here at the RX. It's just that I have been in your shoes before, some 17 years ago as far as gambling and going on 2 years here at the RX (I'm only 35 now, sad isn't it lol).I would like to take the time and give some advice to you guys that want it. The whole key, as far as the forum, and I guess gambling in general, is to be consistent with whatever you do. For example, if you follow one of the cappers here at the RX then follow his plays. Don't bounce from capper to capper and try and get some type of consensus as to the best plays because all your doing at that point is actually capping the game yourself to a certain extent. What I mean is that you will run yourself crazy trying to figure out why "Capper A" is on the opposite side of a game that "Capper B" is on. Then at that point you have to make a decision to follow A or B or "no play" it and this is the part I am referring to when I say you are actually capping when you make that call. Now don't get me wrong, there is alot more to the handicapping process than that of course, but you get my point. I am not a handicapper, never have claimed to be, and really wouldn't want to be! Too stressful! I do post Service and Syndicate plays for all to view, but the same goes for that. If you read one of my post, follow one maybe two of the services or fade them (play opposite of their selections). You will learn over time which one's to play or fade (or e-mail me and I will give you a breakdown of who's who). But you have to be consistent no matter what. Do a little research in each forum, the legit handicappers post their year to date records, therefore you will know how well they are doing. You can also go back literally years here at the forum and see how they have done over time. Now you will find that "Capper A" does well say in Football, but stinks in Basketball for example. So get a plan and stick to it. Get a money management system, some people say that "flat betting" is the best method (that means play the same amount per game no matter what). My theory is strength ratings, meaning I may play more on my "top plays" than my smaller plays. So I could win 2 games in a day and lose 3 or 4 games, but still make a profit, or it could go the opposite! Flat betting, you have to hit 55% to not lose money, or there about. I could hit 30% and still make a profit, again assuming my larger plays win. The money management method I follow is this, take the amount of money that you could lose in a week, without having to use bill money (lol) mulitply that by 4 (for a month) and divide that figure by 40. Example, if your weekly amount you could comfortably lose is $500, multiplied by 4 equals $2000, and divided by 40 would be $50, which would be your "ONE UNIT AMOUNT". So if that weekly figure was $250, then your one unit amount would be $25 and so on. This is a method that keeps your bankroll in tact when, and all of us do, you hit a losing streak. Now stick to this amount, and you will come out ahead over time. You can't get rich quick doin this, unless you bang a few games big and QUIT FOR LIFE! And if your reading this then odds are you won't do that (lol). So regardless of which capper, service, or syndicate you follow, you can apply this theory to their respective unit rating of a game. Example, if the plays your capper has are Team A for 5 units, Team B for 4 units, and Team C for 3 units (and your the $50 per unit player), then your wagers would be $250 Team A, $200 Team B, and $150 Team C. Not trying to treat anyone like their dumb, just wanted to make sure you guys understand. Well, enough gambling 101 so to speak, but I would like to help anyone that I can. Feel free to contact me if there is anything I may be able to help with! Good luck and whatever you choose to do!
